Daniel McDowell

Dan McDowell was called to the Bar in 2001. A civil litigator, he practices predominantly in the areas of real property, planning and environmental law, employment and general common law encompassing most of the traditional areas -- nuisance, negligence and broader ranging commercial disputes.
His property law work includes instructions for developers on section 78 appeals, local planning authorities on enforcement appeals and environmental regulations work and he spent most of the latter part of 2006 as junior counsel for an authority on their Local Plan Inquiry. Other property litigation includes conveyancing, easements, restrictive covenants, sale of land, and boundary disputes.
He undertakes a variety of Employment work including unfair dismissal cases and has advised on complex cases dealing with Restrictive Covenants and Directors' duties. He represents both Applicants and Respondents. He is familiar, and has hands on experience, with the implementation of TUPE regulations work. Additionally, he has presented seminars on public interest disclosure cases in which he has a particular interest.
In the fields of general common law he has wide ranging experience of personal injuries, professional negligence, litigation founded in nuisance; also a considerable part of his practice deals with commercial and business disputes.
