Sexual Offences Handbook book launch   Thursday 14 Jan 2010

The launch of The Sexual Offences Handbook: Law, Practice and Procedure, by Felicity Gerry and Catarina Sjolin , was successfully hosted by Wildy and Sons Bookshop on Wednesday 2 December.

The Sexual Offences Handbook is a practical guide to prosecuting or defending sexual offences (recent or historic). It deals with the law, practice and procedure for offences from 1957 to the present day including preliminary issues, substantive charges, sentencing and appeals as well as footnotes in relation to proposed amendments arising from the Policing and Crime Bill 2008 and the Coroners and Justice Bill 2009.

The Authors:
Felicity Gerry has a substantial practice specialising in serious fatal, sexual and violent offences. As a "Rape Specialist" advocate, she is particularly experienced in complex and lengthy trials concerning recent or historic sexual crime and in fatal and non-fatal child cruelty cases.

Catarina Sjolin is regularly instructed in cases of serious violence, sexual assaults including rape, abuse of children, trading standards matters and confiscation proceedings. Ms Sjölin’s led work has included murder cases, abuse of children in children’s homes and misconduct in public office.
